From Palermo airport, following the highway towards Trapani, on the west coast of Sicily, you reach the beautiful village of Scopello, the starting point of our Western Sicily Walking Holiday.
Legendary Scopello was the last stop of Ulysses before returning to Ithaca and History testifies, through the finds found in the area, the passage of ancient civilizations. The cliffs that stand out from the crystal clear sea of Scopello is the first image you'll take to your heart.
The bays set in the rock, the ancient Tonnara, the beaches and the pristine coves, will catch your eye: the beauty of nature is the beating heart of this Sicily Walking Tour.
Overnight in Scopello.
Walking loop in the Zingaro Natural Reserve
20/14km, +800/300m -800/300m
The second day of the Western Sicily Walking Holiday includes an itinerary on foot inside the Zingaro Reserve.
The Zingaro Reserve extends on the western side of the Gulf of Castellammare, in the area of San Vito Lo Capo. The reserve covers 1650 hectares; our route includes a path on the shoreline and a part of the itinerary in the internal area. Walking in the Zingaro Reserve you can admire the rocky limestone coast. The cliffs, overlooking the sea, alternate with pristine coves. The highest point of the Zingaro Reserve is Mount Speziale at 913 meters.
If your gaze is accustomed to constantly narrowing the horizon in the city glimpses, it will take some time to get used to an endless panorama, where sea and sky meet in infinity.
Walking through the paths of western Sicily you will be amazed at how wild and beautiful nature can be at the same time. The colours of the Mediterranean bush, the intense blue of the sea, the carob trees and dwarf palms, will give you a landscape never seen before. Here the average annual temperature is 19 degrees, the ideal place for a lush nature, with bright tints, at any time of the year.
Overnight in Scopello.
→ On request it is possible to shorten today's stage from 20 to 14km.

The thin white sand welcomes a clear sea; one of the most beautiful beaches is Cala Rossa.
The rocky coast, with the walls of Punta Fanfalo and Grotta Perciata, stands out on the sea and hides beautiful sea caves.

The last day of our Western Sicily Walking Holiday is dedicated to the archaeological treasures of Segesta, an ancient city of Hellenic tradition.
The archaeological park of Segesta is located in a valley surrounded by hills. The theatre, built in the 3rd century BC, dominates the valley. The state of preservation is perfect, the hemicycle located on the rocky slope of Mount Barbaro, has a diameter of 63 meters.
At the bottom of the valley is the Temple of Segesta, surrounded by Mount Bernardo and Mount Barbaro. The temple is a perfectly preserved Doric building, in fact the 36 columns that compose it are still completely intact.
From the right distance you can admire the ochre limestone rock of the Temple that stands out against the green of the hills.
After the visit, continue by private transfer to Palermo for the last overnights stay of your Western Sicily Walking Holiday.
