Among the earliest evidence we note those of Harran in Kurdistan, place mentioned in Genesis because from there Abraham left to Ur. There are thousands of 1-room ocher Trulli because built with blocks of soil baked in the sun.”

35km
Today meeting with the local guide after breakfast. You will be able to pedal together towards the very pretty Locorotondo: its particular pointed houses can be seen from afar, standing out on one of the peaks of this green valley.
Food and wine are an excellence of the area and you will try local cheeses with a tasty tasting after the visit to the dairy.
After picking up your bikes, you'll stop at the beautiful Pomona Gardens to walk among the botanical wonders and discover some of the hundreds of types of figs that exist in the world!

Martina Franca - Olive Oil and Wine Tastings
30km
Today you will explore the area on your own, but don't worry, we have a rich program in store for you!
Mount San Martino houses the old town of Martina Franca, that takes its name from its patron saint, San Martino. The name “Franca” is given by Philip of Anjou in the 14th century, to exempt the town from the payment of taxes in perpetuity. That’s how the centre, attracting many people from the surrounding hills, develops quickly turning it into a well-fortified city.
After strolling through the alleys of its historical centre, look for its famous local products: the Capocollo of Martina Franca, Puglia appreciated cold cut, Slow Food Presidium since 2007, and the Bocconotto, sweet shortbread with a cream and black cherry heart, to taste strictly at Café Nuova Tripoli.
Along the way you will stop to taste the excellent olive oil of the area and the local wines, and you will discover the places where they are produced.
Back to Alberobello for the night.
Castellana Grotte - Visit to the Caves
30km
For your last day of this Gourmet Cycling Experience in the Land of Trulli you will reach to the largest karst caves in Italy!
The Castellana caves run underground for over three kilometers in an atmosphere between evocative power and magic, reflections with stalagmites and stalactites grown with ancestral rhythms. All this is the result of the erosive action of surface water, which for millennia have slowly dug this hole to open the gate to the sea.
After the included visit you can extend your route by following down the path to the beautiful Monopoli. After a nice bath in the beautiful Mediterranean Sea it will be easier to follow the path back Alberobello even if slightly uphill.
The important thing is to arrive on time for your homemade pasta workshop!
